sleepless nights once again

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

For about a week after we came back, I was already tucking myself in early and waking up early too. I finally and happily ticked off the “Go to bed early” part of my pregnancy to-do-list. And  hubby was sleeping early too. Yay for that! Although I’m not at all a morning person, I was beginning to love that sleep pattern because waking up was not a struggle anymore and I found that I can do a lot of stuff while waiting for hubby to wake up, like chat with friends abroad, prepare his breakfast and give more attention to my blogs. I can always get some more sleep when I get tired anyways.

Sadly, I’ve gone back to my bad, old, sleeping habits again. I’m awake at the wee hours of night and wake up with hunger in the morning when I’m still too sleepy to grab a bite. So I end up extending my sleep for a few hours more, wasting time and ignoring my hunger pang (which can’t be good for baby). I’m trying to get the most out of my situation by catching up on reading my pregnancy book but I may have to ask for my doctor’s opinion on this. Anybody know of any good natural sleep aid that I could research about now and ask my doctor about later this week?

Feeling a lot like a blogger today, I woke up in a following-grabbing-commenting-reading mood today. I should be in front of the computer mostly because I have a lot of things to organize which are time constrained; like looking for lucrative merchandising jobs for one. I should also be re-organizing my files, physical and virtual.

Luckily for me, I can eat all I want to keep myself awake. Yeah, we wanna see those figures on the weighing scale go up now. My biological clock is still set to Manila time so it’s like I’m taking 2-to-3-hour naps at night and sleeping 4 to 5 hours in the afternoons. Today’s success only depends on whether I can stay up while there’s still sunshine. *yawn*

Sleep Tight

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Getting up early this morning to drive back home, working all day, moving stuff from one apartment to another, has all put my dear hubby to sleep early tonight. He’s sleeping very soundly right now, and for him, that means, quietly. I’ve also somehow pushed myself to my limits today. I was still cleaning up even with my hangover of birthday migraine. Hopefully, I’ll put myself to sleep in no time and experience the peace and quiet that the hubby (and maybe, users of herbal sleep aid) is experiencing right now. So I’m shutting my notebook down to get some shut-eye… Toodles!

hubby’s crazy schedule & PMS make a bad combo

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Hubby’s scheduled “lates” and weekends for this month; for me, that means sleeping (and waking up) late and slacking on chores which I have less time to do because of his extra rest day. Plus on some days we have to go back to his work because he’s also on-call. So if you’re wondering where the heck I am, I’ve been hibernating in the middle of spring.

On this month’s PMS menu, on the other hand, are headaches, cramps, major bloating and laziness. Laziness and bloating to the extreme! I’m taking my blog (missed PINT and have yet to make my GT entry) and, sadly, some friends (haven’t talked to apple for ages & I owe Kaye another post about her giveaway plus a testimonial – SORRY!) ) for granted. There are some exercise equipments waiting to be used and the house is screaming, “Clean up!” I’ve been a bit emotional too, I have been stressing about my weight gain and what to wear to SATC 2 and to my SIL’s graduation. Aw, I still need to figure out how to use that camera. Darn.

weather weather

Friday, April 30th, 2010

The weather’s crazy these days. My mother has been complaining about the extreme heat in the Philippines since this month started but just last week, via Facebook updates, I heard it rained there.

Meanwhile, it was just starting to warm up here but the last few days have been foggy and/or drizzly. I think the sudden change even make me sick, my tummy hurt a bit. That’s the reason why I snuggled with the bed and sheets for most of the day and just woke up to yet another lengthy advertisement for fast weight loss pills. It even snowed a little in Carson City, my aunt mentioned.

Sleepless?

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

That time stamp is accurate. Yeah, I’m blogging at three in the morning. I knew I would find it difficult to sleep tonight because I had been in bed practically the whole day (Monday) due to migraine.

I’m sharing a room here at my in-laws’ with four other people (my husband included) and they’re all fast asleep now. I have a few things waiting to be done tomorrow. Anyone know of good natural sleeping pills? I could really use some of that.

Tuesday (Vargas) & Wednesday (Addams)

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Tuesday morning. Well, as usual, we woke up late; not really making it early enough to give the morning a proper greeting but rather just to bid it goodbye as afternoon came closer.

I took out a small bag of chicken from the freezer the night before, so it would thaw (still in the fridge) overnight. I thought I’d cook my hubby some soup. It was like tinola but I wanted some flour vermicelli or misua with it. I’m the boss in the kitchen, so that’s what we had for lunch. I think he even enjoyed it. ;p

Then after loading the sheets in the washer, I moved on to a task which had been postponed for days, cleaning the car. A clarification, just the inside, I’m not really the type to get wet giving it a full wash in the small space that we have for a garage. So what I did was basically just a little a lot of dusting, wiping, brushing, vacuuming & organizing. Took me a fat two hours to do that.

I had a little snack while hubby went to the room for the peace and quiet that he needed to prepare for his examination, washed the dishes and then took a bath. Hubby agreed we should just buy dinner and so we went to our favorite Thai restaurant to pick up our dinner: mild Phat Thai & citrus chicken. We made a short detour to Longs Drugs because he wanted some Mtn Dew (is it spelled like that elsewhere in the world?) and peanuts; I went straight to the cosmetic section to check some prices.

After dinner, hubby went to solitude again and left the laptop with me. I was able to do a little online shopping. Good thing my purchases are coming in one package and in just a couple of days! Yay! Feeling guilty for spending the majority of my PayPal money, I checked for some writing opportunities on you-know-where and got 2. Unfortunately, I submitted them past midnight so they counted for today (Wednesday). Too bad it’s raining opps there now and I can’t grab any more because I have reached the daily maximum limit. We went to bed after that anyways.

Hubby woke up early while he allowed me to linger in bed (spoiled me!) and take a bath, until it was time to prepare lunch. Thai leftover on today’s menu. Somewhere during my bed-lingering hours, he visited me and I gave him a nice break through a YouTube video featuring a Korean Guy in uniform dancing to the tune of Nobody by the Wondergirls, shared by Apple (which I also shared in my other blog, CLICK HERE!)

I’m waiting for him to finish his exam now…I hope he gets a good grade! Wish us luck! (badly needed)

Breakfast-for-Dinner is Served

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Monday, May 11, 2009, 6:43 P.M.

Yeah, that’s right. as I write this post, my husband just left for work. He’s on a night-shift, on-call duty today, so we slept late, had lunch, watched some tv, he surfed a little while I read a book, took a little nap, then woke up for dinner.

Dinner was more like breakfast because I had to come up with something quick and easy. First I fried some turkey franks for his baon, if ever he gets hungry. Then some tuyo, eggs and garlic rice. Hash browns were in the toaster oven the whole time. Dinner was served a little after five in the afternoon, when the sun was still up and shining.

And now I am all alone. For the first time since I moved in, I’m spending the night alone in our apartment. This is the second time that we, my husband and I, are actually spending the night apart. The first time was when I spent a weekend at my uncle’s in Nevada. I almost cried moments ago when he went out the door and bid me goodbye. I’ll probably just clean the kitchen and deodorize this part of the house (because dinner was yummy but also smelly) while I take a nice, cool bath and then lock myself in our room later. I may be doing the laundry, reading a book, spending time online, or watching a movie tonight to pass time. I don’t know if I should sleep alone tonight or just wait till my husband comes home tomorrow and sleep with him. Well, whatever! It’s not like I can resist the call of the bed if it comes to me tonight.

*** Hubby should be home by the time this is published ;p
