In more or less than six months, I’m going to have to fit into a dress for a friend’s church wedding. This may be the first time after I have had a baby that I would have to dress up. I’m part of her entourage, and so is my baby. Aside from style, I now have to consider comfort and ability to move in a dress because I’m not only attending a party, but also taking care of a baby. But most of all, I have to have the right body for my dress.

I’m thinking about trying yoga to get in shape. It’s something that I can do quietly while the baby sleeps. How else do you expect me to start but to shop? I checked out some sites and found so many accessories. I don’t know which to purchase first. Yoga mats? Outfits? Maybe some thera bands? Instructional DVD? Geez! I wish I thought of this earlier so I would have given somebody a hint on what Christmas present to give me. J/K ;p

I have several things on my agenda this week, for a change. That’s because I’m trying to set a schedule for me and baby. Right now she can be left alone to play and practice crawling so I may be able to do more chores. I’m hoping to welcome the coming year with a neat home at least; hubby promised to do a few things for me too! I also hope to help a friend polish some details for her June wedding since she’s also busy looking for work and homes for rent abroad where she went to settle with her hubby.

Baby just learned how to sit up on her own last week and I’m not sure if she’s also trying to crawl or stand. I caught her rocking on her hands and knees yesterday. Then last night hubby was telling me she almost jumped off him while they where playing on the bed. I thought it would take her some time at least to get bored of sitting up before she moves on to her next pursuit (a.k.a. milestone) as she mastered rolling over for months. My baby is trying to grow up too fast! Before we realize it, she’d be scouting for La Femme prom dresses and matching shoes at the mall rather than throwing tantrums over a toy.

Thanksgiving 2011

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Today is the hubby’s last day of work for this week; then it’s a long four-day, slash Thanksgiving, slash shopping-crazed weekend! Although the hubby has already started shopping online a couple of days ago and is already waiting for a shipment, I have yet to make a list of the things that I want. It would definitely include stuff for baby so I should gather the sears coupons, discount cards and other vouchers that I have saved for this big sales event. I hope the weather is less gloomy tomorrow and on Friday so that our Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping would really be happy!

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!!!

Birthdays & Presents! ;p

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

We were just at a kid’s birthday party earlier and as I was watching all the little kids go gaga over the bouncy house and the piñata, I remembered my god kids in the PI. There’s a good opportunity to shop for gifts for them but I wish there’s affordable kids christmas gifts delivery as well. Meanwhile, the hubby got inspired to plan our little one’s first birthday although it’s still a good six months from now. The hubby has a lot going on in his mind, I can hardly keep up with him. For now, I should join the little one and get some z’s. Ciao!

Getting Engaged

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

The Author of this post is Cheryl Martinez

We got engaged a few months ago and aside from planning the wedding I’m also in the middle of dealing with moving in. It’s been pretty hectic around here and since I don’t want to live together until after the big day things have gotten extra complicated. My roommate wants to move out about 2 months before the wedding which is fine, it just means we’re going to have to pay more money for me to live alone those two months. I’ve been overwhelmed with all the details – calling Ambit Energy to set up service and dealing with movers and packing my stuff – but at the end of the day I can’t wait to get married and have a life with my fiancé. I think both of us are ready for this phase in our lives and I know that once we live together things will just make sense. And I think we’re starting a trend…so many of our friends here in town have gotten engaged now, too! It’s going to be wedding heavy next year.

I just had one of the best weekends in our married life and am looking forward to the next. It’s gonna be a long weekend with Veteran’s day coming and we have quite a few plans lined up. We got invitations to a birthday party and fight night so we wouldn’t have to worry about dinner anymore, haha! Hubby also thought we should move around some rustic furniture in our bedroom so that baby’s crib is next to our bed. All three of us could hardly fit in the bed but we want to stay close to the baby; with nights becoming colder as winter sets in, we want to be able to make sure that she’s warm enough through the night.

Lovin’ iOS 5

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

Yesterday, when the SIL texted me, reminding me to update my iPhone to the new iOS 5,I was so excited that I did not wait for the baby to fall asleep, instead, I managed to connect my phone to the computer and proceed with the update while watching her and carrying her in my arms. Yeah, I am totally addicted to my iPhone so take my word when I say that this OS is the best ever! There are so many enhancements that I feel like I have a new phone! I’m glad that Apple did not hold back on making so many improvements on this one.

One of the new features is being able to backup the iPhone’s content into iCloud, which is a virtual storage. It would be most useful if you find that 16 to 32 GB of space is still not enough for you and you find yourself trying to manage your iPhone’s content too often.

In this fast-paced age of information technology, it’s always a good idea to have your precious data backed up. We have an external hard drive for extra storage but I’m still considering Online Backup Storage in case of unforeseen hardware failure.

yesterday

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

Baby had a boo-boo yesterday and we had to take her for emergency care just to be sure that she didn’t hurt herself badly. We spent the entire afternoon there. Fortunately, she didn’t break a bone or anything, she was, just a little extra fussy, I guess. Unfortunately, all those poking and stretching just stressed her out for nothing because there wasn’t a clear diagnosis for her fussiness.

While I was trying to feel my arm, which I had been holding the baby with for more or less 5 hours, the hubby was busy taking pictures of our daughter, who was still smiling at the camera despite her condition. The hubby also posted the pictures in our social networking account before I could send my mom a text message. So I better not forget to tell her or she’ll freak out. I remember that time when I said on my status that my feet were killing me, she took it literally and worried that something went terribly wrong when, in fact, I was just wearing the wrong pair of shoes. Haha!

Anyways, I miss my folks, I wish I had them nearby during times like these when I also cry like a child because my own child is in pain. Or I wish we had enough dough to book a private jet and head back home anytime we wish. Daydreaming, as usual…

I was so eagerly waiting for hubby to come back from getting the mail yesterday, hoping that there would be coupons or holiday invitations there for us but to my dismay, we only got a couple of credit card bills… Oh well, there’s still a lot of time. Maybe there will be great Halloween parties around the corner where we can have fun as a family.
