I have several things on my agenda this week, for a change. That’s because I’m trying to set a schedule for me and baby. Right now she can be left alone to play and practice crawling so I may be able to do more chores. I’m hoping to welcome the coming year with a neat home at least; hubby promised to do a few things for me too! I also hope to help a friend polish some details for her June wedding since she’s also busy looking for work and homes for rent abroad where she went to settle with her hubby.

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011Baby just learned how to sit up on her own last week and I’m not sure if she’s also trying to crawl or stand. I caught her rocking on her hands and knees yesterday. Then last night hubby was telling me she almost jumped off him while they where playing on the bed. I thought it would take her some time at least to get bored of sitting up before she moves on to her next pursuit (a.k.a. milestone) as she mastered rolling over for months. My baby is trying to grow up too fast! Before we realize it, she’d be scouting for La Femme prom dresses and matching shoes at the mall rather than throwing tantrums over a toy.
Birthdays & Presents! ;p
Sunday, November 13th, 2011We were just at a kid’s birthday party earlier and as I was watching all the little kids go gaga over the bouncy house and the piƱata, I remembered my god kids in the PI. There’s a good opportunity to shop for gifts for them but I wish there’s affordable kids christmas gifts delivery as well. Meanwhile, the hubby got inspired to plan our little one’s first birthday although it’s still a good six months from now. The hubby has a lot going on in his mind, I can hardly keep up with him. For now, I should join the little one and get some z’s. Ciao!

Thirty
Thursday, October 13th, 2011It’s sweet how being parents has changed my relationship with hubby – from partners to parents, like I said somewhere on the web… Can’t remember which social networking site, actually. Like yesterday, because of the incident (that I touched in my previous post), and what we went through together as a very young family, on our way home, he was telling me how much he loved me and baby, how we should cherish every moment because life may be too short to waste time spent together, how someday, we should all go on a cruise or a grand vacation which we should start saving up for now – enter Cape Cod vacation rental, good suggestion, eh?
I feel that this year is the beginning of still many changes in my life. I started this year at the comfort of my home in the PI, with family and friends who have completed the first part of my existence. And then we had our baby, a brand new person, a new life, a new love… It has been great so far, can’t wait for what the coming days, months, and years to come has in store for me. Cheers to thirty awesome years!
yesterday
Thursday, October 13th, 2011Baby had a boo-boo yesterday and we had to take her for emergency care just to be sure that she didn’t hurt herself badly. We spent the entire afternoon there. Fortunately, she didn’t break a bone or anything, she was, just a little extra fussy, I guess. Unfortunately, all those poking and stretching just stressed her out for nothing because there wasn’t a clear diagnosis for her fussiness.
While I was trying to feel my arm, which I had been holding the baby with for more or less 5 hours, the hubby was busy taking pictures of our daughter, who was still smiling at the camera despite her condition. The hubby also posted the pictures in our social networking account before I could send my mom a text message. So I better not forget to tell her or she’ll freak out. I remember that time when I said on my status that my feet were killing me, she took it literally and worried that something went terribly wrong when, in fact, I was just wearing the wrong pair of shoes. Haha!
Anyways, I miss my folks, I wish I had them nearby during times like these when I also cry like a child because my own child is in pain. Or I wish we had enough dough to book a private jet and head back home anytime we wish. Daydreaming, as usual…
To go or not to go
Wednesday, September 21st, 2011My hubby’s aunt just came in from the PI a few days ago. Hubby also took almost the whole week off so he’s thinking about giving his aunt a tour around town. I still haven’t decided if Elle and I should join them or if we should just stay at home. I’m excited to take Elle out knowing that she now enjoys the new sights and sounds outside home but, at the same time, I’m reluctant because I know that traveling is tiring. It is tiring for me, how much more tiring is it for an infant? And I’m not sure if she’s ready for the wild and wacky people downtown. We’ve seen nude men and one too many women wearing sexy red wigs strolling along those busy streets.
End of Summer
Saturday, September 3rd, 2011It’s Labor Day this coming Monday which means that summer is officially over. Public pools are going to be closed, so are swimming lessons and other water activities. It also means that school is about to restart.
This summer had been fun and exciting because we spent it with Baby Elle but I am sort of saddened by the fact that I was not even able to hit the waters this year. Since I started working and making my own money, my friends and/or co-workers make it a point to go to the beach or for a swim every summer. So this summer is the first time in a while that I was not able to go swimming or beaching…
Baby Elle evidently loves the water. Even if she’s still very small, we know this because she enjoys bath time a lot! It’s unfortunate that she’s too small to go swimming for her first summer. She’s too young to wear sunblock and is therefore too young to stay under the sun for too long.
It may be a good idea for me to look for Indoor Water Parks and sell the idea (to my hubby) of visiting one even in the midst of winter or fall, whenever Elle seems ready to enjoy some splashing water fun. Winter does not have to be boring and spent entirely inside the home, there are plenty of Indoor Activities for Kids and families out there, we just need to use a keen eye, or in my case, a good internet connection!

Wifey Mode On! Again!
Thursday, September 1st, 2011Wifey is blogging from the kitchen now… Just adding a little Pinoy touch to spaghetti sauce for my hubby. We’re forced to have pasta tonight because we’re out of rice. It’s healthier for me too because we’re using whole grain pasta which will not raise my blood sugar levels as much as white pasta would.
Baby’s cooperating and is asleep, so the hubby could just relax while he waits for dinner to be served. It feels good to be back to my multi-tasking wifey mode: cooking, while blogging, while social networking… I may still have time to check fruit baskets online which we can give away on Thanksgiving.
Labor Day weekend sale!
Tuesday, August 30th, 2011I’m looking forward to this coming Labor Day weekend… Aside from the hubby having extra days off to spend with us, I’m excited about the upcoming sales, of course! As early as August, Halloween costumes are already available. And our next Halloween would be very special because it’s Elle’s first! Yay!
If circumstances permit, we would be like any other family this weekend, looking for deals on cool Halloween costumes for kids. I’ve already been window shopping online and have an idea what I want for Elle, I just have to ask the hubby if he approves. And if I really get lucky, he may be in for a little fun and decide that the parents should dress up for the occasion as well. Luckily for me, I’m still nursing and haven’t gained much weight from my pregnancy so I might as well don some Sexy Halloween Costumes. Well, let me try some on first, then we’ll see!
Oops! Baby’s waking up! I’ll find a costume to propose to hubby later…

For Father’s Day, I gave hubby a cooling fan for his laptop. He’s been using it for a couple of months now and I’ve never heard him complain about his laptop dying on him or anything like that since… Until last night, that is… He said his laptop just died, even while he was using the fan. I told him to give his poor, old laptop a break because he’s been using it for school for more than three years now and it’s probably ready to give up. He went to his favorite electronics store last night and I thought he would just be window shopping, checking out toshiba computers or something but he came home with a photo printer. I wouldn’t have a problem with that except, we already have a working printer. :-/
