Last night, while we were sipping on tamarind soup for dinner, the hubby suddenly remembered a friend of ours who just recently got married. He said he hasn’t heard from her for a while. Hubby didn’t know that our dear friend was having a month-long vacation in Hawaii… When I told him that, he thought aloud, “What would they do in Hawaii for a whole month?”
He also thought about how expensive that honeymoon would be. I Googled some Hawaiian vacation packages later and couldn’t agree more about the prices. But I reasoned with him, told him that our friend and her husband work very hard on regular days and they could just be enjoying their free time and doing all the things that they could not have done with their work schedules on the way; besides, it’s their honeymoon. And who knows, maybe they have a relative there who owns a place and is letting them stay there the whole time. They’d be saving a lot on accommodations if so.
Hmmm… Must be nice to have a waterfront property there too… Hawaii has always been one of my dream destinations. Imagine if our little ohana could take vacations and be beach bums without worrying about getting a hotel and all that… And there’d be unlimited Hawaiian barbeque! Dreamy mode…
